St. Louis: Home to Bioscience Powerhouse

With the recent release of AgTech’s Investing Report, it has become apparent that the Agtech market is flourishing. The report by AgFunder provides a comprehensive snapshot of 264 deals in 2014 that are worth $2.36B in funding for the industry, truly showcasing the growth of the plant science market.

Bio Research & Development Growth (BRDG) Park is proud to be making an impact on the success of the bioscience industry in St. Louis. For six years BRDG Park together with the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center has worked to advance agriculture research and innovation. BRDG Park is committed to providing companies a collaborative environment with the tools and facilities they need to increase their chances of success.

NewLeafBRDG Park tenant, NewLeaf Symbiotics, a science-based company doing cutting-edge research and product development, using a naturally occurring family of beneficial plant bacteria, was named number eight on the Top 20 Series B Deals in AgTech’s investing report at $17M.

“The Danforth Center is working to strengthen the region’s reputation as a bioscience powerhouse,” said chief operating officer and senior vice president for administration and finance at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center and president of BRDG Park, Sam Fiorello. “We are doing this by attracting world-class talent, providing access to intellectual capitals and infrastructure, generating new companies and creating jobs and investment opportunities in plant science, biotechnology and related fields.”

Not only is BRDG Park home to some of the top emerging agriculture research companies in the world, it also hosts one of the premier networking events for ag innovators. The Ag Innovation Showcase focuses on early stage innovations in agriculture and larger, global-scale policy and technology issues. We hope you will join us at the #AgInShow2015 on September 14-16, 2015 to discuss important industry topics and network with peers.
